Rome unveils bust of great Kazakh poet Abai Kunanbayev

A ceremony of unveiling a bust of Abai Kunanbayev, outstanding Kazakh poet and philosopher, took place in Rome’s Parco di Villa Grazioli,El.kz reports citing the press service of Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Culture and Information.

Minister of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan Aida Balayeva addressed the ceremony participants, emphasizing the importance of the event.

This is not only an important cultural event for the two states, but also a new chapter in cultural relations between Kazakhstan and Italy,” said the Kazakh Minister.

It should be noted that the memory of the great Kazakh thinker is honored abroad. Monuments, busts, and memorials to Abai have been erected in major cities and capitals around the world, including Tashkent, Moscow, Kazan, Bishkek, Beijing, Cairo, Budapest, Tehran, Ankara, Istanbul, New Delhi, Geneva, Paris, Rennes, Sarajevo, Tbilisi, Berlin, Seoul, Kharkiv, Baku, Rio de Janeiro, and others.
