Representatives of Canada shared their impressions of participation in Astana intl forum

Canadian delegates held an online event for the local establishment and the business community on the results of their participation in the Astana International Forum, which took place on June 8-9, 2023 in the capital of Kazakhstan, El.kz cites MFA.

The event was attended by representatives of government agencies, think tanks and business circles of Canada, as well as the diplomatic corps and international organizations. The speakers and participants of the event discussed the dynamics and changing structure of Kazakhstan's society, issues of energy and food security, the transition to green energy, the introduction of artificial intelligence and prospects for a multilateral approach to solving problems. During the event, the further development of Canada's comprehensive cooperation with the countries of the Central Asian region, and first of all, with Kazakhstan, was touched upon.

In particular, Professor of the McGill University Bart Edes and Researcher of the MacDonald-Laurier analytical center Jonathan Miller shared some of the results of the meetings that held in Astana, as well as personal impressions of participation in the Forum. They stressed that in a relatively short period of time, a new economic environment for conducting free business has been formed in Kazakhstan, large shifts towards improving the standard of living of the population are noticeable, the socio-political activity of civil society institutions is growing.
