Record number of new schools built in Astana

18 new schools were opened in the Kazakh capital during the year, some of which were built within the framework of the national project "Comfortable School", El.kz reports citing the mayor's office of Astana.

Akim (Mayor) of Astana Zhenis Kassymbek said that population growth requires the expansion of social infrastructure, including schools. Out of 18 educational institutions, 11 were built on behalf of the Head of State as part of the national project.

The national project "Comfortable School" provides for the construction of 24 new schools by 2025. This will create 90 thousand student places in two shifts, which will significantly improve access to education.
