NUR-SULTAN – Rajasthan Tourism Minister (India) Mr Govind Singh Dotastra visited PATA Exhibition (Pacific Asia Travel Association) which took place in the capital. In this regard, it was possible to ask Minister some questions about tourism in Rajasthan.

Rajasthan is the most popular state among tourists. Historically, there are many monuments rich in a variety of cuisine and culture, forest valley and desert fauna including safari.

What measures are taken by Rajasthan authorities to attract tourists?

Rajasthan is a desert zone. However, not only the beauty of the desert, but colorful nature and historical sight images were brought to the exhibition too. It is a rich state full of historical monuments. You can visit lakes, dense forests and a number of historical temples. As for the directions in the sphere of tourism, safety of tourists stands first in our government program. There are even tourist police stations for this. That is, tourists arriving in Rajasthan are not looking for a police station, almost everywhere there are tourist police. People can ask them for help. This is done in order to help tourists feel safe and know that there is always someone who will protect them. The next measure is cleanliness. It is important for us that tourists feel at home. I think we have a lot of measures. But the most important things for tourists are safety and cleanliness.

Temples in Barmer, steppes, Rajsamand Lake, mosques, markets — these are the popular places among the tourists who visit Rajasthan. Tourists can also visit Sariska Tiger Reserve in Alwar, Keoladeo and Ranthambhore National Parks.

Kazakhstanis do not know much about your region. There is not much information about Rajasthan, don’t you think so?

That is the reason of my visit. We are specially taking part in PATA Exhibition to showcase Rajasthan so that people know more. Such exhibitions are of great importance for the tourist area. We want to develop Rajasthan tourism. In addition to colorful clothes and desert, Rajasthan is the area where its culture has been preserved. So I recommend to come to Rajasthan and get acquainted. Yes, Rajasthan locals also know about Russia. However, they do not know much about Kazakhstan. Therefore, today's exhibition will become a bridge between the residents of the two countries.

What budget does a tourist need to visit Rajasthan?

It depends on the tourist’s desire and money. If a tourist need all-inclusive service, to see all the sightseeing and live at an expensive hotel, we can provide it. We also can offer cheaper options. At the same time, it is not expensive to live at a safe hotel and discover the region. In Rajasthan, you can get around not only by plane, but also by other means of transport. The capital of Rajasthan region and now a tourist area is Jaipur. To date, the number of tourists attracted to this city is growing every day.

What is your opinion on the tourism potential of Kazakhstan?

First of all, we are happy and thank you for participating in this exhibition. Nur-Sultan is a young city. It is young and very clean city with tall buildings. Traffic is well-established in the city. We can learn this from Kazakhstan. Residents of Rajasthan know about Kazakhstan too. Therefore, we are here to develop the tourist business and get to know each other.
