Prospects for cultural exchange between Kazakhstan and Indonesia discussed in Ministry of Culture and Information

Vice Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerbol Alikulov met with Hilmar Farid, Director General of Culture in the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia and Indonesian Ambassador Mochamad Fadjroel Rachman, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the ministry.

Yerbol Alikulov noted that last year Kazakhstan and Indonesia celebrated the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations.

During this time, our countries have developed close and trusting relations within the framework of bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation. Now we need to intensify joint work by holding and participating in cultural events," the Vice Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan said.

A memorandum on cultural cooperation between Kazakhstan and Indonesia was signed in 2013. The partners intend to expand the scope of cooperation.

"Kazakhstan and Indonesia have a lot in common. We are multinational and multicultural states. I am sure that our cooperation will become even more effective and interesting," Hilmar Farid said, proposing to increase the number of exchange students in both countries.

In conclusion, the participants noted their readiness to consider and strengthen cooperation in the field of fine and decorative arts, music, theater and cinema.
