Prospects for cooperation between Kazakhstan and UNOPS discussed in Vienna

The Permanent Representative of Kazakhstan to International Organizations in Vienna, Mukhtar Tileuberdi, met with Simonetta Siligato, the newly appointed Director of the Multi-Country Office of the UN Office for Project Services (UNOPS) in Vienna,El.kz cites Kazakh FM.

During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the current state of cooperation between Kazakhstan and UNOPS and explored opportunities for its further development. Ambassador Tileuberdi spoke about the adoption by the UN General Assembly of a resolution on the establishment of a UN Regional Center for Sustainable Development Goals for Central Asia and Afghanistan in Almaty, and welcomed the decision to open a UNOPS office in Kazakhstan. The parties agreed to expedite the signing of the Agreement on the Legal Status of the UNOPS Office in Kazakhstan.

Special attention was given to the implementation of ongoing and planned projects in Kazakhstan and across the Central Asia. At the end of the meeting, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening cooperation.
