Minister of Health Azhar Giniyat held a meeting with persons with disabilities in the Majilis hall of the department, together with deputies of the Parliament, heads of structural divisions of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the capital's health department, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The invited participants of the meeting raised the issues of the development of cadaveric donation to save patients standing in line for kidney transplantation, creating a barrier-free environment for people with special needs in medical organizations, clear regulation of sanatorium treatment, confirmation of disability for children with mental disabilities.
In particular, in her address to the minister, the representative of the Association of Hemodialysis Patients, Aizhan Kudarova, called for the active development of cadaveric donation in the country, she also raised the issue of the advisability of allocating quotas from the state for organ transplantation abroad. In response, the minister said that this year negotiations are underway with the Republic of Belarus on kidney transplantation for Kazakh children.
"We are now working together with the Ministry of Labor to develop uniform standards for sanatorium treatment, where everything will be regulated regarding the quantity and quality of services. As for the barrier-free environment for people with disabilities in medical organizations, the rules for the provision of primary health care specify the requirements for creating conditions for persons with disabilities, another thing is that they are not observed at the level of local authorities," the head of the Ministry of Health said, answering a question from a resident of the Karaganda region.
In response to the appeal of residents of the city of Baikonur to improve and accessibility of medical care, to provide special medical equipment for persons with disabilities, narrow specialists, the minister instructed to organize a visit of the head of the health department of the Kyzylorda region to meet with the population to resolve the issues raised.
It was also instructed to familiarize and send to the level of local authorities a copy of the order of the Ministry of Health, which provides for special medical equipment for persons with disabilities.
During the meeting, Azhar Giniyat instructed the structural divisions of the department to work out ways to solve problem situations voiced by persons with disabilities.
