In March, prices for seven types of socially significant food products decreased. In particular, prices decreased for onions, potatoes, carrots, as well as for buckwheat, sugar, sunflower oil and chicken meat, El.kz reports with reference to the Bureau of National Statistics.
Directly in the last week of the month, potatoes (by 0.7%), onions (by 0.3%), white cabbage (by 0.1%), buckwheat (by 1.3%), sunflower oil (by 1.1%) and granulated sugar (by 0.8%) fell in price. The cost of such socially significant products as wheat flour of the first grade and bread from it, chicken meat, pasteurized milk with a fat content of 2.5% remained unchanged.
In general, prices for socially significant products for the period March 1-28, 2023, increased by 0.4%. Over the last week of the month (March 20-28), the indicator was practically unchanged (plus 0.1%). For comparison: in March last year, there was an increase in prices for NWTP by 9.1% at once.
In two cities, prices for the last week of March decreased (in Aktau and Uralsk - by 0.1% for the period march 20-28), in another seven - in Astana, Aktobe, Atyrau, Kostanay, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Petropavlovsk and Taldykorgan - remained unchanged. It is noteworthy that among the regions where there is a general decrease in price, there is also the Mangystau region, where earlier the situation with the growth of prices for products was negative.
