President Tokayev receives Secretary General of Muslim World League

Kazakh President meets with Secretary General of Muslim World League, El.kz cites Aqorda.

The Head of State held a meeting with the Secretary-General of the Muslim World League (MWL), Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, who arrived in Astana to take part in the 8th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.

The President expressed gratitude to the MWL Secretary-General for his support of our country’s initiatives in promoting interfaith dialogue and for his significant contribution to advancing the ideas of peace and harmony.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that the preservation of interfaith and intercultural harmony holds a special place in Kazakhstan’s domestic and foreign policy.

As the Head of State noted,  Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions is aimed at uniting efforts to strengthen global security and stability.

In addition, the President expressed confidence in the further strengthening of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia.

For his part, the Secretary-General of the MWL highly praised the Congress traditionally held in Astana as a unique platform for exchanging views and promoting universal values. He wished prosperity and well-being to our country.

For his significant contribution to strengthening interfaith harmony worldwide and promoting Islamic civilization, the Head of State awarded Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa with the Order of Dostyk (Friendship), First Class.
