President takes part in expanded meeting of CIS Council of Heads of State

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took part in the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the CIS in an expanded format, El.kz news agency reports with reference to Akorda.

Along with Kazakh leader, President of Russia Vladimir Putin, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part at the event.

The heads of state discussed the priority areas of the Organization's activities, as well as plans for the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation.

The meeting was addressed by President of Russia Vladimir Putin, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko.

During the event, Ilkhom Nematov, CIS deputy Secretarywas awarded the Order of Friendship, and the Director General of the TASS news agency, Andrei Kondrashov, was awarded a diploma of the CIS.

Following the CIS summit, a number of documents were adopted.
