The President of Kazakhstan met with the Chairman of the Board of JSC “NC “QazaqGaz” Sanzhar Zharkeshov, El.kz reports with reference to Akorda.
Sanzhar Zharkeshov presented a report on the results of the company's work for the first nine months of 2024. The meeting focused on the investment projects and the development of the country's transit potential.
The head of QazaqGaz noted that in the context of growing consumption of commercial gas, the company is actively attracting foreign investment in exploration projects. Thus, an agreement was signed with Chevron on gas exploration in the Aktobe region on the terms of 100% carry financing, which will significantly strengthen the country's resource base.
Zharkeshov also reported on joint work with the ministries of energy and national economy aimed at fulfilling the task announced in the President's Address. The purpose of this work is to increase the investment attractiveness of the gas industry, to ensure the establishment of fair tariffs and wholesale prices for gas.
The President of Kazakhstan gave a number of instructions regarding ensuring stable gas supply to the population and the economy during the heating season, as well as further reforming the industry and expanding the capabilities of the country's gas transportation system.
