President of Kazakhstan meets with Minister of Finance

The President of Kazakhstan met with Minister of Finance Madi Takiyev to discuss the current state and prospects for the development of the country's public finances. During the meeting, the minister presented a report on key parameters of the public funds, including the republican budget execution for the first quarter of 2024, El.kz reports.

The Minister also informed about significant steps aimed at optimizing unproductive budget expenditures, which will reduce expenditure items by more than 300 billion tenge. These funds will be redirected to projects that provide the greatest economic return.

Particular attention was paid to updating the Budget and Tax Codes, which include measures to improve the efficiency of budget management and tax administration. Innovations in the Tax Code are aimed at reducing the number of inspections and optimizing the tax collection process.

The Minister also announced plans to modernize the customs infrastructure at the EAEU border, which will significantly speed up the processing of goods and increase the capacity of the border.

Following the meeting, the President set a number of tasks to further improve the financial well-being of the state, emphasizing the need to balance the budget and continue the digitalization of the tax and customs spheres.
