The Minister of Finance signed a decree stating that all cash payments in Kazakhstan should be carried out through cash registers, including payment in cash or bank cards. Despite this legislative measure, shops, private clinics and shopping centers continue to use other methods of payment, El.kz reports.

Some shops even refuse to provide customers with a POS terminal if the customer is unwilling or unable to make a transfer. Instead, entrepreneurs offer customers to transfer money to a mobile number, justifying the fact that the device does not work.

According to the Tax Code of Kazakhstan, all cash payments must be made using cash registers, including payment by cash or bank cards. Mobile payments via QR code in the bank's app are also allowed.

In case of non-use of cash registers, fines are provided. Danat Kezembayev, Chief Expert of the Public Services Department of the SRC of the Ministry of Finance, noted that the "Civil Control" campaign has been launched, within the framework of which any taxpayer can shoot a video recording of the fact that he did not accept payment through a POS terminal. According to these data, appropriate measures will be taken in the future.
