State Counselor Erlan Karin wrote on his Facebook page that the relevant decision was adopted on February 11 at the 13th session of the ISESCO Committee on Islamic World Heritage, El.kz reports.

“Oyu-ornек is a key ethno-cultural code that strengthens our cultural identity and historical continuity,” Erlan Karin emphasized.

He described the inclusion of oyu-ornек in the prestigious list as an important step in promoting Kazakhstan’s cultural heritage at the international level, noting that it reinforces the ethno-cultural code, cultural identity, and historical continuity.

Karin also recalled that in 2023 the traditional game Togyzkumalak, one of the main symbols of Turkic civilization, was already included in the ISESCO list.

He confirmed that efforts to include Kazakhstan’s cultural heritage sites in the lists of UNESCO and ISESKO will continue in accordance with the President’s instructions given at meetings of the National Qurultai.
