Over 5,000 students compete in regional championships of WorldSkills-2025 in Kazakhstan

From March to June 2025, regional WorldSkills-2025 championships were held across all regions of Kazakhstan. According to the press service of the Ministry of Enlightenment of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a total of 5,044 students from technical and vocational education institutions participated in the competitions, El.kz reports.

“A total of 5,044 students took part in this large-scale event aimed at promoting skilled trades. Their work was evaluated by 5,759 professional experts. The championships were organized at around 600 colleges and covered over 900 skill categories,” the statement said.

The highest number of skill categories was presented in the Aktobe region (77), followed by Akmola region(62), West Kazakhstan (60), and Kostanay (59), reflecting the strong level of training and well-developed infrastructure of vocational institutions in these regions.

“Regional WorldSkills championships are an important platform aimed at enhancing the prestige of skilled trades and developing students’ professional competencies,” the Ministry of Enlightenment emphasized.

Based on the results of the championships, the top participants were awarded diplomas, medals, and special prizes. In addition, they earned the opportunity to represent their regions at the national stage of the competition, which will take place in December in Astana.
