Over 500 students of vocational colleges to compete at WorldSkills Kazakhstan

In the coming week, 500 students of domestic vocational colleges will compete at the WorldSkills Kazakhstan championship, El.kz reports.

The event will be held in all regions of the country, where future hairdressers, seamstresses, cooks, programmers, electricians will demonstrate their skills in front of experts.

The winners of this championship to go to France next year to represent Kazakhstan at the world level in the final of the international championship. Already this year, for the first time, our team won two medals of the competition at the final stage in Poland, emphasizing the high level of professionalism.

"Now we are working on training future entrepreneurs. We plan to open 100 "business incubators" across the country by 2029. Here, students of vocational colleges will receive support on the principle of "from idea to business". That is, upon completion of the college, the graduate will be ready to start his own business," said Akzira Kasymova, Acting Director of the Department of Technical and Vocational Education of the Kazakh Ministry of Education.

It is worth noting that according to the ministry, more than 70% of young technical specialists in Kazakhstan are immediately employed after graduation from vocational schools. Some graduates continue their education, which indicates the importance and relevance of this educational direction.

WorldSkills is an international non-profit association, the purpose of which is to improve the status and standards of vocational training and qualifications around the world, to popularize professions through international competitions around the world.
