In Nur-Sultan, from July 23 to July 24, the Asian Triathlon Championship among athletes of categories U23 and U19 will be held, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the capital's akimat.
As part of the competition, the V stage of the TEMIRADAM Cup will be held in the "2 + 1 relay" among athletes of the Pro and Age Group categories and the TEMIRADAM Challenge in the 1500 m swimming among amateurs.
It is expected that more than 100 athletes from 13 countries will take part in the competitions. Among them are the strongest triathletes from India, China, Japan, Bahrain, Taipei, Hong Kong, Thailand, Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, India, Macau, the Philippines, Iran and Kazakhstan.
Kazakhstan will be represented by 15 athletes. The first competitions among juniors (U23 and U17-19) will be held on July 23 at 07:00. On July 24 at 08:00 in the morning, the strongest will be determined among amateur athletes.
The competition is held with the aim of developing triathlon in the world, popularizing a healthy lifestyle in Kazakhstan, improving the skill level and qualifications of Kazakhstani professional athletes, coaches and judges.
At the time of the championship, part of the streets in the city will be blocked.
