5,052 people are employed in the country’s construction sector. Also, foreign nationals work in the mining and quarrying sector (1,263 people), agriculture, forestry, and fisheries (1,296 people), in the administrative and support spheres (975 people).
The main countries of origin for labor migrants in Kazakhstan are China (4,945 people), India (1,169 people), Turkey (1,165 people) and Uzbekistan (1,056 people).
According to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan, there are 1,744 employers in Kazakhstan that attract foreign labor. These enterprises employ more than 377.6 thousand citizens of Kazakhstan, which is 96.5% of the total number of employees.
The Ministry annually sets a quota for attracting foreign labor to protect the domestic labor market by 0.2% to 14.800.
