Approximately 100 people, including students, academic staff and university management, watched the President’s address, Qazaqstan Media reports.
The initiative to organise the collective viewing was put forward by the students and academic staff of the University. Participants gathered in one of the lecture halls to familiarise themselves with the key priorities for the country’s development and the forthcoming reforms.
According to Adilkhan Tolepbergen, Member of the Management Board of Kozybayev University responsible for Social and Cultural Development, the Address placed particular emphasis on digitalisation, infrastructure development and the construction of social facilities.
“It is important for us that students and staff understand what changes are planned for the country and our region. Going forward, we intend to organise discussions of the key provisions of the Address among academic staff and the student community,” Adilkhan Tolepbergen noted.
He added that, for North Kazakhstan Region, particular importance is attached to the plans to expand the main highway connecting Kokshetau and Petropavlovsk. In the University representative’s view, improvements to transport infrastructure will also benefit students by making their commute to the University more convenient.
Asanali Zhanatuly, Chair of the Kozybayev University Student Government, also shared his views on the President’s address. He highlighted the social initiatives outlined in the Address, including the construction of schools, hospitals and perinatal centres, as well as forthcoming changes to the functioning of the public administration system.
“The Address raised a number of important social issues affecting the population. These include infrastructure development and the construction of healthcare and educational facilities, as we all pursue education and rely on healthcare services. The President also emphasised the need to review approaches to the work of the public administration system and establish a new ethical framework for civil servants,” Asanali Zhanatuly said.
The University noted that the collective viewing provided an opportunity not only to hear the key points of the Address but also to identify issues for further discussion. The University plans to hold meetings with students and academic staff in the near future to discuss the initiatives announced by the President.
