The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Saudi Arabia Berik Aryn met with the Secretary General of the Muslim World League Sheikh Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of interaction between Kazakhstan and the Muslim World League General Secretariat, including strengthening interreligious and interfaith dialogue within the framework of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, El.kz cites MFA.
Sheikh Mohammad Al-Issa noted the leading role of Kazakhstan in establishing a dialogue between representatives of various religions, promoting a culture of tolerance and peaceful coexistence, and expressed the Muslim World League’s interest in further strengthening cooperation with Kazakhstan within the framework of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.
In this regard, Ambassador Aryn briefed on pivotal directions of the course of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on building a Just Kazakhstan, including the main aspects of the implementation of socio-political transformations and constitutional amendments, as well as informed about the results of the parliamentary elections held in Kazakhstan.
For reference: Muslim World League was founded at the initiative of Saudi Arabia in 1962 and is the largest international non-governmental organization, whose constituent council includes representatives of all Islamic countries. The organization’s activities aim to present the genuine values of Islam worldwide and its tolerant principles, provide humanitarian assistance, establish interreligious, intercultural, and inter-civilizational dialogue, and strengthen friendship and harmony between peoples.
The leadership and representatives of the League regularly take an active part in the activities of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, as well as in the meetings of its Secretariat, and make a significant contribution to promoting the goals and objectives of this international forum.
