President of Mongolia Ukhnaa Khurelsukh arrived in Astana to participate in the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), which will be held on July 3-4, El.kz reports.
At the capital's airport, he was met by Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Galymzhan Koishybayev.
Mongolia was the first observer state in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
This geographic expansion of the association testifies to the growth of the SCO's international authority and the strengthening of cooperation among its members.
Kazakhstan and Mongolia maintain traditionally friendly political relations, as well as actively cooperate in the trade and economic sphere. In 2023, bilateral trade amounted to $133 million, showing an increase of 27.7% compared to 2022.
