Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Moldova Almat Aidarbekov met with Chairman of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova Igor Grosu, El.kz cites MFA.
The Kazakh diplomat briefed the Speaker of the Parliament on the key provisions of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s State of the Nation Address “Just Kazakhstan: Law and Order, Economic Growth, Social Optimism”. He focused on the tasks aimed at ensuring further economic growth, attracting investments and improving the welfare of the citizens. According to Aidarbekov, the strategic goal is to bring the country’s GDP to 450 billion US dollars by 2029.
Ambassador also familiarized the Speaker with the main aspects of the Head of State’s article titled “Central Asian Renaissance: Towards Sustainable Development and Prosperity”, telling about Astana’s conceptual vision of the state and prospects of cooperation between the countries of the region in various fields.
As well as the sides had a thorough exchange of opinions on the development of bilateral cooperation.
Grosu stressed the importance of Chisinau’s decision to open the Moldovan Embassy in Astana, expressing hope that this step will give further impetus to Kazakh-Moldovan relations in the political, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. In this context, the speaker also expressed satisfaction with the opening of the Honorary Consulate of Kazakhstan in Moldovan city of Balti at the end of September this year.
The parties expressed mutual interest in increasing joint investment projects. Among the successful examples, the sides noted the modernization of the section of the Moldovan railways “Tighina-Basarabeasca-Giurgiulesti” implemented by the Kazakh side.
In order to give additional dynamics to bilateral relations, the parties stressed the need for careful substantive preparations for the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission in 2025.
A number of current issues on the international and regional agenda were also touched upon during the meeting.
