Minister of Culture and Sports Askhat Oralov proposed to introduce tourist cashback for Kazakhstanis, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry.
The program, which the minister plans to introduce, will allow citizens to return up to 20% of the cost of the tour during the less active holiday season if the vouchers were purchased in official travel agencies.
For example, the return of 20% of the amount of costs will apply to new destinations (Abai, Ulytau regions), and to popular and favorite destinations, such as Almaty, Burabay - the cashback will be 10%.
"We will begin work in order to fully and qualitatively work out all the mechanisms of such a program. Cashback will become a new tool to make domestic tourism more attractive. By increasing demand, we will also support domestic tour operators. I believe that our ministry should accelerate consideration of the issue of introducing tourist cashback," Askhat Oralov said.
