Microsoft teases something big for Windows 11

Microsoft announced the end of support for Windows 10 with the final Patch Tuesday update arguably marking one of the biggest events in the tech landscape. However, we could be in for a real surprise as Microsoft may have something even bigger landing this week, El.kz citesNeowin.

The tech giant has teased about "something big" that is coming this Thursday. On the official Windows X handle, this somewhat cryptic post was made.

From the post we do get a hint of what the announcement could be about as the company says that those fingers of yours are going to get some PTO (short for paid time off) and that it is the time to rest those fingers.

Thus clearly the feature is related to typing and how users may no longer need to do so. While voice input itself and other such accessibility features are not anything new on Windows 11 and they have been around since the original release of the OS, recently the company has made to clear that it intends to completely overhaul how every user will be interacting with their systems going forward as voice is going to become the major input so that you may ditch keyboard and mouse forever.

If you recall, a couple of months ago in August, a senior Microsoft exec Pavan Davuluri, leader of Microsoft’s Windows and Devices business confirmed that this was the plan the company was working on for the next generation of Windows (Windows 11 26H2 or Windows 12 maybe?).

Davuluri had said that Windows will be becoming "more ambient, more pervasive, more multi-modal" such that your PC will be able to "semantically understand you". He further added that your system will become "context aware" about what you are doing on your system and this will obviously be achieved using the various Copilot features that Windows comes with.

Essentially, it wants to turn Windows into an agentic OS and thus also recently announced MCP support for Windows.
