In January-March 2022, the total volume of microcredit issued in Kazakhstan amounted to 756.2 billion tenge, which is 62.1% higher than in the same period of 2021, El.kz reports with reference to Ranking.
Such a significant increase over the year is a record in recent years. Since 2017, the loan portfolio of microfinance organizations has grown by an average of 47.4% over the year.
Analysts remind that at present microfinance organizations have the right to issue bonds and borrow funds from domestic banks. If in January-March 2019, in the structure of liabilities of microfinance organizations, loans accounted for 93.6%, then in the same period of 2022 - only 80.1%.
