At the 15th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission, issues of the economic situation between the countries, cooperation in the field of agriculture, digitalization, healthcare, energy, industry and transport were discussed.
The head of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development stressed that France is one of the key trade, economic and strategic partners of Kazakhstan in the European region and is among the top 5 major investors in Kazakhstan.
"Last year's visit of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the French Republic gave a new impetus to relations between the two countries. To date, France has invested more than $18 billion in Kazakhstan. In 2022, the trade turnover between the two countries increased by 30% and reached $4 billion. In general, more than 180 enterprises with the participation of French business operate in the republic," Marat Karabayev said.
Following the meeting, 6 documents were signed: a joint communiqué, a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of geological underground research between BRGM and the Geology Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development, a memorandum between the Akimat of the North Kazakhstan region and C3Médical on telemedicine, agreements of understanding on cooperation between Nazarbayev University and Alstom and AirLiquide, as well as a long-term agreement between AirLiquide Munay Tech Gases and KunTech .
