Mazhilis Speaker Yerlan Koshanov met with Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations

The main emphasis in his speech was made by Yerlan Koshanov on the development of cooperation between the Majilis and the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia, the duties of which are temporarily headed by Miroslav Jenča.

More than three years ago, with the support of the center, the Dialogue of Women of Central Asian Countries began to work. This year, it is chaired by Kazakhstan, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

"We plan to share Kazakhstan's experience in supporting and participating women in all spheres. An Action Plan for 2023 has been developed. It provides for the holding of international conferences, round tables, meetings on the sidelines of international forums. Their leitmotif will be the exchange of experience, including legislative support, between the countries of Central Asia to promote the active participation of women in the life of the region," the Speaker of the Mazhilis shared.

Kazakhstan's chairmanship will inaugurate at the end of May this year. The event will present best practices in the development of innovations and technologies with the participation of all Central Asian countries.

In response, UN Assistant Secretary-General Miroslav Jenča thanked Kazakhstan for its active participation in the organization's initiatives in the region. He expressed hope that cooperation in the framework of supporting women and youth will deepen and cover all institutions and organizations in the country.

After the bilateral meeting, Miroslav Jenča discussed the Action Plan in more detail with the Vice-Speaker of the Majilis Dania Espayeva and the Chairman of the Chamber's Committee on International Affairs, Defense and Security Aigul Kuspan, who represent Kazakhstan in the Dialogue of Women of the Central Asian countries.
