Condé Nast Italia has included Kazakhstan in the top 5 ski destinations in the world, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The tourist potential of the mountain resort of Shymbulak was presented in the Italian edition of the legendary magazine among the top 5 places in the world that are definitely worth visiting for winter sports lovers.
Along with the Kazakh resort, the Troll Peninsula in Iceland, Mount Denali in Alaska, Kazbegi in Georgia and the Zao ski resort in Japan are represented in the top.
"The Shymbulak ski resort, located half an hour's drive from the city of Almaty, has a legendary atmosphere and modern comfort" and strongly advises not to miss après-ski, the editorial board writes.
Earlier, Almaty was included in the ranking of 52 places to visit in 2024 according to the New York Times, and Kazakhstan was also included in the top 24 of Wanderlust magazine.
