Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Zulfiya Suleimenova and Adviser to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Economic Issues Sir Suma Chakrabarti during the meeting discussed decarbonization and implementation of the draft Strategy for Achieving Carbon Neutrality of the Republic of Kazakhstan until 2060, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the department.
"This strategy reflects an assessment of the country's necessary investments in low-carbon development, while a significant part of the investment will be carried out instead of high-carbon projects," the agency said.
In addition, the state will take measures to ensure a favorable investment climate of low-carbon policy, to stimulate the accelerated modernization of existing industries and infrastructure, as well as to provide targeted measures to support socially vulnerable groups of the population.
The meeting also discussed the introduction of information technologies, the transition to digital platforms, the digitalization of monitoring the composition and volume of greenhouse gases, space monitoring of emissions, the digitalization of business processes in all sectors of the economy and the introduction of advanced international approaches and standards for the transition to alternative and renewable energy sources.
