The capital of Kazakhstan hosted the Asian Championship among athletes U23 and U19. The sports event was planned in 2021, but did not take place due to the epidemiological situation, El.kz reports with reference to the official website of the akimat.

More than 100 athletes from 13 countries took part in the competition, including Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, China, Kyrgyzstan.

Kazakhstan was represented by 15 athletes. So, Daryn Konysbayev took the second place of the championship in the U23 category.

He was beaten by Oscar Coggins of Hong Kong, who set a high tempo from the very beginning of the race and eventually completed three stages in 1 hour 51 minutes and 14 seconds. And the third was the representative of China Qing Chen.

In the women's U23 category the first place was taken by the Japanese Izumi Ikeguchi, showing the result of 2:10:26. And the representatives of the Celestial Empire Wen Wei and Xinyi Lin recorded "silver" and "bronze" in their team piggy bank.

In the U19 competition, two Japanese sportswomen broke forward: Mako Hirazumi - first place and Manami Hiyashi - second place. And the "bronze" was taken by an athlete from the Hong Kong team Charlotte Hall.

The representatives of Japan Amu Omuro and Takuto Oshima took first and second places. Among the prize-winners was the Kazakh athlete Egor Krupyakov, who won the bronze.
