Kazakhstani film collects almost 50 world awards

The feature film "Sunflower" by Eli Gilman is released, El.kz reports according to film studio "Kazakhfilm".


 The premiere of the author's film directed by Elya Gilman "Sunflower" was held in Almaty.

"Sunflower" is the first Kazakhstani drama, which won 47 world awards and nominations.

The film is released and will be shown in cinemas for only one week.

 The film will tell the story of a family in which a 14-year-old teenager suffering from Internet addiction is trying to solve the problems of adults. The film raises a very important problem for Kazakhstani society – teenage suicides.

 " We`ve be going to big screens almost five years. The film is based on real events. Our close friends lost their son. He would be 20 today. At the funeral, his dad said one phrase: "Guys, just talk to your kids. Don't buy them gadgets, don't buy their time with expensive toys, don't leave them alone with their problems." This story is my message to all parents," director Elya Gilman said.

The main role in the film was played by the young actor Rashid Musin, who received the prize in the nomination "Best Young Actor" at the international film festivals Cannes World Film Festival and Istanbul Film Awards. The film also stars Yerkebulan Dayirov, Sloboda Michalovic (Serbia) and Kirill Kyaro (Russia).

 Recall, the film was shot by the film studio "Kazakhfilm" together with the company "Stalker Cinema" by order of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
