Kazakhstani joins international women’s hockey development committee

Victoria Sazonova, general manager of Kazakhstan's women's hockey teams, joined the international women’s hockey development committee under the auspices of the International Ice Hockey Federation, El.kz reports citing Olympic.kz. This appointment makes her the first Asian representative in this authoritative body.

"I feel a great responsibility and consider it a great honor. My goal is to represent Kazakhstani hockey at the international level." Sazonova said.

During her career, which lasted about 20 years, Sazonova was an active member of the national hockey team of Kazakhstan, ending her playing career in 2013. In 2022, she led the women's junior team at the World Championships and acted as a mentor at the 2023 World Championships. Since 2022, Victoria Sazonova has held the position of General Manager of Women's National Teams and Director of Women's Hockey Development at the Kazakhstan Ice Hockey Federation.
