Kazakhstan to host first Central Asian Volunteer Forum

On August 15-19, Kazakhstan will host the first Central Asian Volunteer Forum, organized by the Ministry of Information and Social Development, El.kz reports.

The forum is aimed at supporting the initiative of the Head of State to declare the International Year of Mobilization of Volunteers, which Kassym-Jomart Tokayev made in 2020 at the 75th session of the UN General Assembly.

The platform of forum will bring together volunteers and volunteer organizations from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Uzbekistan. Participants will discuss new trends in volunteering and preparations for the proclamation of the International Year of Mobilization of Volunteers for Development, the positive experience of Kazakhstan in the development of this sphere, as well as present the best projects and the UN Volunteers program - a report on the state of volunteering in the world: "Creating an equal society for all".

The forum will be held in 2 stages. On August 15-16, discussion platforms in offline format will be held in Burabay National Park and the Turkestan region. On August 18-19, the capital will host the final Forum in the format of TEDx talks with panel sessions of the SDGs, sessions and speeches of delegates. A key part of the day will be the adoption of the resolution and the 2022 UNV special session.
