Prospects for further cooperation between Kazakhstan and Japan in the field of culture were discussed during a meeting between Minister of Culture and Information Aida Balayeva and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Kazakhstan Jun Yamada, El.kz reports with reference to the Ministry of Culture and Information.

Aida Balayeva congratulated the Ambassador on the Day of Culture, which was celebrated in Japan on November 3.

"The high degree of mutual trust and partnership over 30 years of diplomatic relations has laid a solid foundation for the development of Japanese-Kazakh relations in various fields, including culture, cinematography, and interfaith harmony. The exchange of culture plays an important role in strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between peoples," the minister said, adding that Kazakh culture has a rich heritage that should be presented to the Japanese audience, as well as find common ground with Japanese culture.

In turn, Jun Yamada expressed readiness to actively develop partnerships and expand cultural exchange between the two countries.

"There are successful projects, including the Kazakh-Japanese film "Horse Thieves", which was shot in 2019. We are interested in the promotion and implementation of such projects and intend to support all your proposals," the Ambassador assured.

"The Head of State emphasizes the special importance of the creative industry in the education of the younger generation. In this regard, we are interested in your experience, as well as technology and the latest trends in the film and animation industry. There are all conditions for the development of these areas in Kazakhstan, but the issue of personnel training remains relevant. We are ready for mutual exchange and mutual enrichment," Aida Balayeva said at the end of the meeting.
