Chairman of the National Bank Timur Suleimenov said that the universal QR code will make it possible to pay for purchases through the application of any bank, ensuring mutual compatibility, El.kz reports.
"It often happens that when you go to a store and want to pay with a QR code, you are asked: 'Halyk' or 'Kaspi'. It is not possible to pay through the 'Kaspi' terminal with the 'Halyk' bank application, and vice versa. I think this is not very convenient for consumers," Timur Suleimenov said.
He noted that the National Payment Corporation has created this system, and promised to launch it in a pilot mode by the end of this year, and from the beginning of next year, the project will have to be fully implemented, joining all banks, without exception.
