Kazakhstan is launching a digital platform that will combine all utility payments into a single interface, El.kz reports.
The country plans to introduce a unified digital service for paying utility bills, aimed at simplifying payments and making them more transparent for citizens. The platform is called Smart Turmys.
According to Deputy PM and Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry Zhaslan Madiyev, the service is designed as a universal solution for the public. It will become a single interface for citizens for utility services. It was stated during a government meeting.
At the same time, he noted that the concept of a single payment document has been developed.
“The model of a unified payment document is designed to increase convenience for the population and improve transparency of settlements,” Madiyev said, emphasizing that the initiative aims to reduce the number of separate bills and simplify the monitoring of charges.
Digitalization also affects the water management sector. This year, automation will begin on 103 irrigation canals, with remote control of gates to be introduced in southern regions.
“Gate control is planned in the Kyzylorda, Zhambyl and Turkestan regions,” Deputy Pm said, adding that this will reduce manual operations and increase the accuracy of water distribution.
Madiyev also highlighted the importance of the NeoPro unified platform for managing water utilities.
According to the minister, startups from the Astana Hub ecosystem are making a significant contribution to the sector’s digitalization.
“Today, 11 projects are operating within the ecosystem, creating digital solutions for the water sector,” Madiyev said, adding that their combined revenue has reached 6.3 bln tenge.
Going forward, the relevant ministry is expected to complete the launch of the National Water Resources Information System.
"By the end of 2026, it must be put into full commercial operation,” the deputy prime minister stressed.
