Kazakhstan to introduce AI elements to detect cartel agreements

The Head of State received Chairman of the Agency for the Protection and Development of Competition Marat Omarov, El.kz reports citing Akorda.

The President heard a report on the Agency's control functions, including joint work with law enforcement agencies on demonopolization of the economy.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was informed about the work carried out as part of antimonopoly response measures. The share of fulfilled orders reached 90.3%.

Marat Omarov spoke about the Agency's plans for the development of competition for 2024.

According to the Chairman of the Agency, to date, an information and analytical system has been developed and launched to analyze the state of competition, public services have been digitized, an information system is being developed - the Agency’s  database, elements of artificial intelligence will be introduced to detect cartel agreements.

Following the meeting, the President gave a number of instructions to Marat Omarov related to the development of competition in key sectors of the economy, investigations conducted by the department, as well as approaches to the protection and development of small and medium-sized businesses.
