Minister of Culture and Information Aida Balayeva met with Italian Ambassador to Kazakhstan Marco Alberti, El.kz reports with reference to the ministry.

During the meeting, Aida Balayeva stressed that Kazakhstan attaches special importance to the development of cooperation in the field of culture and art with European countries.

"An important event for Kazakhstan will be participation in the large-scale event Venice Biennale 2024. As part of the national pavilion, along with the exhibition of works by our artists, we will hold master classes in the field of art. This cultural platform will provide an opportunity to get better acquainted with the historical and cultural heritage of the country through the creativity and art of Kazakhstani masters and talents," the minister expressed confidence.

In turn, Marco Alberti noted that in 2023, an Italian cultural center, the first Institute of Culture in the Central Asian and Caucasus region, was opened in Almaty.

"The main mission of the Institute of Culture is to popularize the Italian language and culture, to draw attention to new creative talents. In this regard, we are particularly interested in cooperation with universities in Kazakhstan. In 2024, we plan to open a center for Italian-Kazakh culture for the creative industry in Kazakhstan," the Ambassador said.
