Kazakhstan, Thailand to launch new direct flights

Starting Dec.1, 2025, a direct flight will open between Almaty and Bangkok, El.kz reports.

“Joint marketing initiatives with AirAsia will make the metropolis even more accessible and recognizable on the international stage,” the Tourism department emphasized.

Thai AirAsia X is a long-haul airline established in 2013 and based in Bangkok. The carrier operates comfortable flights across Asia and continues to actively expand its route network.

To promote Almaty in the region, a large-scale digital campaign has been launched, reaching up to 70 million impressions, along with offline advertising in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore featuring views of Almaty and the logos of Visit Almaty and AirAsia.

Kazakhstan strengthens its international air cooperation

Earlier, the Civil Aviation Committee of Kazakhstan reported that Kazakhstan and Latvia had agreed to expand their transport links. Following the Kazakhstan–Latvia business forum held on October 1 in Almaty, it was announced that SCAT Airlines will launch a direct flight between Kazakhstan and Latvia in the spring of 2026.
