The 9th summit of the Belt and Road Initiative was held in Hong Kong, El.kz reports.
The Kazakh delegation was headed by Vice Minister of National Economy Arman Kassenov, and included representatives of the Development Bank of Kazakhstan, “Baiterek” NMH JSC and the Kazakhstan Investment Development Fund (KIDF).
Speaking at the panel session Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement (PDCA)", Arman Kassenov noted that in the context of global geopolitical and geo-economic challenges, the idea of reviving the Great Silk Road is becoming especially relevant. The Belt and Road Initiative, launched in 2013, has received active support from Kazakhstan, and the country remains a reliable partner of China in the implementation of this large-scale project.
According to the Vice Minister, the countries participating in the initiative have great opportunities for developing cooperation in such areas as innovation, green energy, transport, logistics and finance. During the visit, the Kazakh delegation also held meetings with representatives of major Chinese financial institutions, including the Silk Road Fund, the China Development Bank (CDB) and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).
