Kazakhstan signed agreements worth $120 mln at exhibition in China

Kazakhstan signed agreements worth $120 mln at the 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai,El.kz news agency reports.

The Ministry of Trade and Integration added that last year the amount of agreements concluded at the exhibition amounted to over $81 mln.

The event, held from November 5 to 10, was an important step in strengthening Kazakhstan's trade and economic ties with China and other countries.

One of the key innovations was the opening of online sales of Kazakhstani products on the TikTok platform. In partnership with the Chinese company Jiangsu Soho Holdings Group Co., Ltd streaming was carried out, which allowed viewers from all over the world to get acquainted with the range of goods from Kazakhstan and purchase them in real time. In two days of online sales, products worth 450 thousand yuan were sold.

Kazakh companies CEREBRA AI and Alaqan AI took first and second places in the 2024 “Maker in China” SME Innovation and Entrepreneurship Global Contest, confirming the high level of Kazakhstan's technological potential.

Within the framework of the exhibition, several strategically important agreements were signed. One of the key ones was a memorandum of cooperation between the Tourism Department of the Turkestan region and Export Bahrain from the Kingdom of Bahrain, aimed at developing tourist routes and increasing the flow of tourists to the Turkestan region. An agreement was also signed with Nomad Art from Kyrgyzstan, promoting cultural and tourist exchange between the two countries.
