Kazakhstan continues to expand its presence in intl markets. In the first half of 2026, the country’s merchandise exports amounted to $40.3 bln, representing an 8.6% increase compared with the same period of the previous year.
Meanwhile, imports increased by 5.4% to $31.5 bln. As a result, Kazakhstan’s foreign trade turnover reached $71.8 bln, up 7.2%, while the country’s positive trade balance amounted to approximately $8.9 bln.
Thus, one of the key outcomes of the first half of the year was not only the increase in foreign trade flows, but also the fact that exports grew at a faster rate than imports. This contributed to a further strengthening of the country’s positive trade balance.
Kazakhstan’s exports surpass $40 bln
Over the six-month period, Kazakhstan exported goods worth more than $40 bln. This represents one of the country’s most notable foreign trade results in recent years.
For comparison, exports amounted to $37.1 bln in January–June 2025. Thus, export revenues increased by approximately $3.2 bln year on year.
At the same time, export growth has been accompanied by an expansion in the geographical reach of Kazakhstan’s supplies. The country is simultaneously strengthening its position in major markets across Asia, Europe and Central Asia.
