Kazakhstan secures 33rd place in global happiness survey

Kazakhstan took 33rd place in the overall World Happiness Report and emerged as a global leader in social support. The country demonstrated strong positions in social support, charity, and emotional well-being.

Kazakhstan in global ranking

In the latest study, Kazakhstan ranked 33rd, standing alongside nations traditionally recognized for their stable quality of life.

However, Kazakhstan's most notable achievement was not in the overall score, but in a specific social dimension. In terms of social support, the republic entered the top five strongest countries in the world - one of the most leading indicators in the published data.

More than just a number

In such studies, the overall happiness focuses  in daily resilience, the feeling of having a support system, emotional states, and the willingness of people to feel like part of a society rather than "lonely passengers in a long queue for tomorrow."

Against this backdrop, Kazakhstan showed a cohesive profile across several sensitive indicators that reveal the real social fabric of a nation rather than just "display" statistics.

Beyond the rankings

Kazakhstan is interesting in this study for how different indicators from life evaluation to emotions, and from charity to social inclusion interact with one another.

This profile provides a more comprehensive view. While the country holds the 33rd position overall, it shows significantly higher results in specific parameters directly linked to everyday trust and human relationships.

Insights on charity

Kazakhstan ranked 29th in this category, indicating a notable percentage of the population is ready to support others through financial or material aid.

It is important not to confuse different metrics: the rank in the general happiness index and the rank in charity are distinct, though both contribute to the broader conversation about how a society is structured and how developed its practices of participation are.

Compared to its regional neighbors, Kazakhstan also maintains a confident position. Based on World Happiness Report data, the republic ranks 2nd in charity among CIS and EAEU countries.

Emotional background

Another remarkable detail is Kazakhstan’s very strong position regarding negative emotions. The country ranked 2nd for low levels of negative affect in the list.

This result does not mean the society lives entirely without anxiety or irritation. Rather, it suggests that in international comparison, the country’s emotional background is quite stable, and daily internal tension is not a defining characteristic of public well-being.

Having a support network almost always influences how people navigate difficult periods and how heavily they perceive daily burdens.
