Kazakhstan's exports reach record highs in May

In May 2022, exports of goods from Kazakhstan amounted to $ 7.7 billion - such a monthly volume of exports has not been since February 2014 ($ 7.9 billion) El.kz reports.

Consistently high prices for oil, metals and agricultural products brought Kazakhstan about $ 34.2 billion in export revenue for 5 months, which is 59% or $ 12.7 billion more than last year's five-month figures, ERI experts say.

Sales of Kazakhstan increased:

▪️ oil - by 91% or $ 9.6 billion

▪️ ferroalloys — by 61% or $529 million

▪️ copper cathodes — by 25% or $ 318 million

▪️ wheat — by 61% or $322 million

▪️ uranium - 2.6 times or $ 497 million

▪️ sulfur — by 3.3 times or by $ 238 million

These goods accounted for 90% of the country's export growth, collectively showing an increase of $11.5 billion.

We note the growth in exports of flour (+ $ 135 million), sulfur (+ $ 238 million) and liquefied gas (+ $ 94 million).

In the country context, exports grew:

to Italy for $ 2.9 billion

to China by $1.5 billion

to South Korea for $ 1.3 billion

to Turkey for $1.1 billion.

In general, supplies to the European Union increased by $ 5.8 billion and to Asian countries by $ 5.2 billion. These two directions provided 87% of the growth of Kazakhstan's exports, while Kazakhstan's exports to the EAEU countries in January-May decreased by 0.9%.
