Kazakhstan has resumed beef exports to China after a two-year break, according to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The first batch of 20 tons was sent by one of the enterprises of the Almaty region, which also supplies products to Iran, Oman and Bahrain,El.kz reports.

Exports of Kazakh beef to China were suspended in 2022 due to an outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease. The issue of resuming trade was discussed at the government level during the visit of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to China.

In December last year, experts from the General Administration of Customs and the Ministry of Agriculture of the People's Republic of China visited Kazakhstan, who conducted an audit of the Kazakh veterinary service for the control of foot-and-mouth disease and avian influenza. On February 7, 2024, the restrictions were lifted.

The resumption of beef exports indicates a high level of cooperation between Kazakhstan and China, as well as recognition of the effectiveness of veterinary measures taken by our country. This event opens up new opportunities for expanding trade ties and strengthening economic relations with neighboring states.

The recovery of beef exports to China is an important step for the Kazakh economy, which contributes to the development of livestock and strengthens the country's position in the international meat market.
