Kazakhstan reduces coal exports to far abroad

Kazakhstan has reduced coal exports to far abroad . At the end of October, a little more than 2 million tons were exported for a total of $ 54.9 million, El.kz reports.

According to the First Credit Bureau, in September the figures were much higher - almost 3 million tons and $ 99.6 million.

The decline was primarily due to European countries. Shipments to Poland decreased over the month from 173.9 thousand tons ($ 15.1 million) to 140.9 thousand tons ($ 13.3 million); to Romania - from 34.3 thousand tons ($ 1.7 million) to 6.7 thousand tons ($ 0.3 million).

But much stronger is the decline in sales to Switzerland, which is the second (after Russia) buyer of Kazakhstani coal. If in October sales amounted to 852.9 thousand tons ($ 15.1 million), then in October - only 170.3 thousand tons ($ 2.7 million).

In addition, sales to Turkey fell markedly (the October 299.5 thousand tons that were unprecedentedly high for this direction were replaced by November 9.8 thousand tons), and exports to India stopped altogether (in September - 30 thousand tons for $ 4.6 million).

This was partially offset by an increase in sales to Estonia: in September, less than 2 thousand tons ($ 0.2 million) were spent, in October - already 70.5 thousand tons ($ 12 million).

In just 10 months of 2022, Kazakhstan sent abroad 27.2 million tons of coal, which is 15.3% more than a year earlier. Revenue for the same time increased 2.1 times, amounting to $ 819.4 million
