Kazakhstan produces 441.3 thousand tonnes of processed milk

Kazakhstan produced 441.3 thousand tonnes of processed milk in the first eight months of the year. Compared with the same period last year, production increased by 0.2%, El.kz reports citing the Bureau of National Statistics.

Despite the positive trend, the increase in production remained modest. During the corresponding period last year, Kazakh enterprises produced 440.5 thousand tonnes of processed milk.

The N Kazakhstan region recorded the highest production volume, reaching 120.8 thousand tonnes. It was followed by the Akmola region, with 96.2 thousand tonnes.

From January to August, 64.7 thousand tonnes of processed milk were produced in the Almaty region . Production in the Kostanay region amounted to 43 thousand tonnes.

For comparison, Kazakhstan’s enterprises produced 671 thousand tonnes of processed milk over the course of the previous year, representing annual growth of 6.2%.

Exports also increased. From January to July, Kazakhstan exported 2.9 thousand tonnes of processed milk, 3% more than during the same period last year.

Russia remains the main export market, receiving 2.24 thousand tonnes of the product. Kazakh processed milk was also exported to Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.

Over the first seven months of the year, 307.9 tonnes of processed milk were exported to Uzbekistan. Exports to Tajikistan amounted to 194 tonnes.
