Kazakhstan optimizes drug supply to population - Kazakh Ministry of Health

Minister of Health Akmaral Alnazarova announced the launch of a project to improve the system of outpatient drug provision in the country. The main focus of the new initiative will be on quality control of medicines. This statement was made during her speech at an expanded meeting of the ministry's board, El.kz reports.

Alnazarova expressed concern about the significant increase in spending on outpatient drug provision, which has doubled in recent years. At the same time, as she noted, the provision of patients with the necessary medicines in 41 nosologies is only 50%.

The Minister also stressed that despite the overall increase in the volume of drug provision, the level of hospitalizations among patients receiving outpatient drug provision remains high, which requires additional attention and optimization in this area.
