The Kazakhstan Museum Congress dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held in Astana, as part of a large-scale event, the Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aida Balayeva met with the Dr. Souraya Noujaim, Director of the Department of Islamic Arts of the Musée du Louvre and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Kazakhstan Sylvain Guiaugue, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the department.
The parties discussed issues of strengthening cultural ties and expanding cooperation between Kazakhstan and France. The Minister proposed to continue strengthening the partnership between Astana and Paris in research work within the framework of studying the historical and cultural heritage of the two countries and stressed the importance of joint research in the field of museums.
Aida Balayeva invited her French colleagues to organize symposia, exhibitions and scientific conferences, training sessions and seminars that would contribute to the exchange of experience and strengthening cooperation between the museums of the two countries.
Souraya Noujaim, in turn, expressed interest in expanding cooperation between the countries, stressing that the Louvre would be interested in joint research in the field of restoration and study of cultural heritage.
Meanwhile, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Kazakhstan Sylvain Guiaugue noted that scientific cooperation is a promising area for both countries. He also stressed that the French Embassy is ready to help in the implementation of these projects and develop partnerships in the scientific and cultural spheres.
At the meeting, it was decided to substantively work out a program and a document on cooperation, which will become the basis for strengthening cultural and scientific ties between Kazakhstan and France.
