Kazakhstan has ranked 53rd in the updated Safest Countries for Investors index, El.kz reports citing Henley & Partners.

The study was prepared in collaboration with the analytical platform AlphaGeo and covers 150 countries and territories.

In the October edition of the index, Kazakhstan ranked 70th. The May update demonstrates a significant improvement in the country’s position.

Over the course of several months, Kazakhstan advanced 17 places in the ranking. This progress reflects the country’s strengthened relative resilience amid evolving global economic conditions.

Kazakhstan recorded the highest ranking among the countries of Central Asia. The Republic outperformed Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan, maintaining its regional leadership in terms of investment security.

The index assesses the ability of national economies and public institutions to withstand financial, political, and external shocks. Countries with resilient economies, predictable governance systems, and well-developed regulatory frameworks achieve the highest rankings.

The methodology is based on 13 indicators. Analysts assess inflationary and foreign exchange risks, political stability, regulatory quality, the soundness of public finances, institutional development, and resilience to crises.

The May edition of the index incorporates updated market data on sovereign risk. This approach provides insight into how international investors assess the resilience of countries amid ongoing global economic uncertainty.

Switzerland ranked first in the index. It was followed by Denmark, Sweden, Singapore, and Norway.

Kazakhstan fell just three positions short of entering the top 50. The country’s improved standing in the international ranking further strengthens its reputation as a resilient investment destination and enhances its competitive position in attracting foreign capital.
